Fady Alaa
Lead AI / Computer Vision Engineer
Based in Cairo, Fady specializes in medical image processing and convolutional neural networks applied to ophthalmic data. His graduate work focused on iris recognition systems, which he now applies to wellness pattern analysis. He leads the computer vision pipeline that powers Iridology AI's core analysis engine.
Connect on LinkedInOur Approach
We started Iridology AI because we saw an opportunity to apply modern computer vision to a practice that has relied on manual observation for over a century. Our approach is straightforward: take the pattern recognition that experienced iridologists do by eye and systematize it through convolutional neural networks and image processing pipelines.
We're not trying to prove or disprove iridology as a medical science. We're building a tool that makes iris pattern observation more consistent, more accessible, and more trackable over time. We let users decide how to incorporate the insights into their wellness routines. You can read more about our technical pipeline on our methodology page.
What We Don't Do
- We don't diagnose diseases
- We don't claim our analysis replaces medical examination
- We don't sell your biometric data to third parties
- We don't make promises about clinical accuracy that we can't back up with evidence
Our Foundation
Founded in 2024, we set out to make iris insights usable and trustworthy. We translate traditional observations into reliable, repeatable results using modern imaging and ML techniques.
Short, clear reports help people take small, meaningful steps toward better health.
Our Commitment
Accuracy and privacy guide everything we build. Images are encrypted and you control your data.
We combine established iridology ideas with ongoing validation — always with the goal of practical, respectful guidance.
Origins of Iridology
Ancient Origins
Eyes were inspected for illness signs in ancient Egypt, Greece, and Babylonia, marking the earliest known practices of ocular diagnosis.
First Iris Map
Philippus Meyen von Coburg publishes Chiromatica Medica, featuring the first documented iris-organ mapping system.

Modern Iridology
Ignaz von Peczely formulates the modern method of Iridology and publishes the first comprehensive iris chart in 1880.

Color Analysis
Nils Liljequist links drug-induced iris color changes to systemic states and publishes a comprehensive 258-plate atlas.

Global Practice
Bernard Jensen popularizes Iridology worldwide through his teachings and publications, including 'Science and Practice of Iridology'.

Our Mission
Our mission is simple: give people clear, non-invasive wellness insights they can use. We make iridology practical for everyday health choices.
- Fast, actionable reports
- Respectful data practices
- Evidence-forward development
Our Vision
We imagine a future where simple tools help people stay healthier, earlier. Our vision is accessible, privacy-first health guidance that complements traditional care — everywhere.
